It’s been some time since we’ve heard from Blues Control, but just as summer greets us, they’ve released a beautiful new video for the song “Open Air,” off 2012’s Valley Tangents. Directed by Tara Sinn (who also directed the video for “Love’s A Rondo”), the video creates a pastoral-like terrain, communicating the song’s ambient qualities, which slowly builds aurally and visually with footage that becomes progressively more experimental as it approaches its denouement.[youtube http://youtu.be/5zebINVScEs]
Blues Control have released the video for “Walking Robin,” taken from their latest LP Valley Tangents, out now on Drag City. As birds soar through the sky and effiges burn, a beat from what sounds like an 80s Casio keyboard coasts below the sun soaked guitar lines in the synthy, lo-fi murk. At times, it almost recalls Sensations Fix with a dose of Rangers. The video was directed by French filmmaker/artist Clémence Hébert and filmed on Tunø, a small Danish island in the Kattegat Sea, during Midsummer day.
